Why do so many amateur rally racers disconnect their ABS?

As an avid fan of rally racing, I've noticed a trend among amateur racers where they often disconnect their ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). The primary reason for this is to gain better control over their vehicle, as ABS can sometimes hinder precise braking in off-road conditions. Without ABS, these racers can perform more aggressive maneuvers and have a better feel for their car's capabilities. Additionally, disconnecting ABS can also help in reducing the overall weight of the vehicle and potentially lower maintenance costs. However, it's important to note that this practice can significantly increase the risk of accidents, especially for inexperienced drivers.
